Practice Makes Power: What’s Your Commitment in 2025?

Happy New Year! đŸ„‚ January is prime time to plan, pivot, and power up your goals. You’ve heard the old clichĂ©: “Fake it ‘til you make it.” But let’s be real—faking it doesn’t build skill, confidence, or credibility. Practicing does.

The new mantra for 2025? “Practice it ‘til you become it.”

Here’s why this mindset shift is critical for your success:

  • When you fake it, you’re skating by.
  • When you practice, you’re investing in yourself, showing up for your future self every single day.

So, how do you practice to become it?

Activate the five steps below for leveling up in 2025.

1. Pinpoint Your Focus Area

What’s one skill that, if mastered, would make a massive impact on your career or business? Is it sharpening your negotiation game? Delivering knockout presentations? Leading your team with more confidence? Don’t overcommit. Focus on one key area and go all in.

2. Make It SMART (Yes, Even for Practice)

Set a Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, & Time-bound goal.

  • Instead of “Get better at sale calls,” try: “By March, I’ll close 5 new clients by practicing objection-handling techniques 3 times per week.”

3. Repetition + Feedback = Results

Practice has nothing to do with perfection—it’s about progress. Keep going, even when it’s messy. And don’t go it alone! Ask for feedback from colleagues, mentors, or even clients.

4. Make Accountability Fun

Got a colleague or friend with big goals too? Create a “practice pact.” Cheer each other on, share wins, and hold each other accountable when motivation dips.

5. Celebrate the Little Wins

Every time you nail a sales call, deliver a killer presentation, or take a step closer to your goal, celebrate it. Wins, big or small, deserve recognition—they’re proof you’re becoming it. Reward yourself!
