The season you’re stepping into isn’t about being busy—it’s about showing up with presence, intention, and strategy.
Recently, in the middle of the airport rush, I caught a video overhead. People swimming in the ocean. Sunlight. Energy. Calm. Momentum.
The contrast was striking—while everyone around me had their heads down, hustling from gate to gate, eyes glued to their phones, that screen showed another reality: presence.
Presence creates POSSIBILITY
This of course doesn’t just happen in airports. We live in constant motion—back-to-back meetings, packed conferences, endless networking events. If we’re not careful, we go through it all head-down and miss the very opportunities in front of us.
Networking season is here.
This season don’t just wing it. Have a game plan beyond a bit of research on who will be in the room.
Micro-Moment Challenge: Look Up
Next time you step into a conference room: pause. Breathe. Look up.
Notice the energy in the room. Notice the people. Notice the possibilities.
Because presence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being aware. And when you show up with presence, you see opportunities others miss.
By the numbers:
–60% of business growth happens due to networking.
–77% of clients state that trust increases with those they do business with when networking.
–86% of clients state that the experience they have is just as important as the product or service.

Confidence
Confidence isn’t personality—it’s preparation. Decide in advance how you’ll show up and what impression you want to leave.
Action You Can Take: Before walking into a conference room, pause and set a two-word intention (e.g., curious & calm or focused & friendly). This resets your mindset and shapes the energy you bring. Be mindful of your posture, eyes up and connect!, and hands visible.
Sticky-Note: “Own the room before you enter it.”
Communication
Skip the generic small talk. Connection happens when you’re intentional, memorable, and strategic.
Action You Can Take: Replace “What do you do?” with deeper conversation starters:
-
“What’s something you’re excited about this quarter?”
-
“How have things changed from last year to this one?”
-
“What’s a highlight of this event for you?”
Sticky-Note: “Be the conversation people remember.”
Connection
Momentum doesn’t end when the event does—it starts there. Opportunities live in the follow-up.
Action You Can Take: After each event, write down three people you want to reconnect with. Send a recap, a resource, or a reframe within 48 hours. (The 3 R’s make follow-up less awkward and way more effective.)
Sticky-Note: “Follow-up turns contact into connection.”
